group classes
Starting in February 2012, group classes in guitar, percussion, or voice are back, but this time around, group classes are not only for beginners. In addition to large group beginner classes, we have geared some small group lessons toward intermediate and advanced students who want to take their lesson experience to the next level. Our experiences with RockLab and Young Band have proven our theory that grouping students is the only way to go. Why? Here’s some of our findings.
- Students who get a more social experience in lessons tend to be more excited about learning, and have more fun.
- TWO classes per week allows for flexibility. Pick your primary day, but if you need to come on the other day, no problem. Have to miss a couple of weeks? Come twice a week to make up for time lost. No problem!
- Students feel more accountable to practice when their peers are relying on them.
- Students who are shy or nervous to perform feel more comfortable when surrounded by newfound friends.
- Students make new friends and feel that they are part of a community at BRMS.
- Group lessons are at an unbeatable price point for an hour per week!
- Session ends with a showcase at FEST FOR ALL 2012!
CLASS LENGTH: One hour
SESSION DATES: Monday, February 6th – Friday, May 4th.
CLASS DAYS AND TIMES: Wednesday 4-5pm or Thursday 4-5pm
SHOWCASE: Fest for All on Saturday, May 5th and/or Sunday, May 6th (Specific day and time TBA)
PRICE: $110 per month
Group Classes are PERFECT for:
- Beginners who are just starting out on the instrument.
- Intermediate/Advanced students who want to spice things up and play with other students at the same skill level.

Are there any additional cost for books? Do we need to bring our own guitar? I am 62 and have a little knowledge of reading music will I fit into these classes.
Hi James,
We will provide excerpts from several different books weekly. There is no requirement of having background knowledge in reading music as this is a beginner class. Thank!
I have a daughter whose a junior at st amant high and is preparing for her first solo. She needs more out of school training and practice. I have found a living social coupon that I would like to purchase for half off of voice lessons in a group setting for her. She has been singing with st amant choir for three years but lack confidence. Is that something you all can help us with? Please let me know so that I can make a decision abt purchasing the coupon before the 5 days to purchase is up.
Thank you!
Hi, yes we often work with students on confidence. Please give us a call to discuss further so we may decide if group voice class is the best fit for her. 225-769-6225 after before 3pm or after 6pm and ask for Doug. Thanks!
how do i sign up to the owner.
Hi. I’m not exactly sure what you mean, so please email me at contact@brmusicstudios.com so that I may better assist you.
I am wanting to get my nephew into more musical surroundings and saw your ‘deal’ on Living Social. Can only one ‘deal’ be purchased for him, or can I get two and he use them both for 2 months of group guitar lessons?
Thanks,
Angel
Hi Angel,
Sorry, only one deal per person. However, we have discounted our the rest of the semester for students who wish to continue after 4 classes. If we can retain 4-5 students, tuition will be $79 per month until the end of April. If we can retain 6-10 students, tuition will be $59 per month until the end of April. Also if the students stay until the end of April, we have prepared a special performance opportunity for them at Fest for All 2012 in the children’s village. Looking forward to hearing from you!
