message from key staff
Hi, I’m Courtney. As the office manager for Baton Rouge Music Studios, LLC it is my pleasure to serve you! It is my job to explain to you our policies, procedures, and membership packages, but it is also my job to support you and problem solve with you should there be any financial or communication issues that require attention. My goal is to make sure your relationship with BRMS is positive and meaningful. We started this business because we love people, and I consider it an honor to be able to form and maintain meaningful relationships with each of our students and parents. My door is open to any and all questions and/or concerns, but you may also check out FAQ page, which may help you before you feel the need to send an email or pick up the phone. Thank you for your patronage and for allowing us to be a part of your children’s lives!
Hi. My name is Doug Gay. Music education is very important to me, which is why I continue to function as Owner and Director of Programs at Baton Rouge Rouge Music Studios LLC. I started this business in 2006 after building a large student base as a private lesson teacher, first working out of my house, then working out of Brook Mays Music at The Mall of Louisiana.
My job is to create quality educational programs for our students, as well as to plan, book, and organize the myriad of performance opportunities for our students. The programs I work on are geared to show the importance of a traditional music education, while using contemporary pop and rock music to teach the same essential elements found in school music programs. Also, as a professional musician, it is part of my mission to incorporate practical application situations in our programs. Learning how to play an instrument is 100% of the initial process of becoming a professional musician. Once a certain level of mastery on an instrument is attained, the road to becoming a successful musician becomes more about communication skills, networks, responsibility, and accountability. Our programs encompass all of these concepts.
My mission for this business is to show kids how placing an equal importance on formal music training and simply knowing how to “jam” with others can open up a unique and wonderful world. I want my students to get to do what I do if they so choose to live that life, and if they do not want that life, then I want them to take the importance of self-discipline, adaptability, and the ability to communicate effectively with them into whatever life they choose to live.
This business is my life, and your kids mean the world to me. I appreciate your trust and faith as we continue to make this business the most effective business it can possibly be.
Sincerely,
Doug Gay
Owner – Baton Rouge Music Studios
