who will make the cover?

Which band will make the cover of BRMS’ first compilation LP CD “Young Band Nation: Volume I”? Nine bands are going into Dockside Recording Studio to record nine original songs that our instructors helped them write over our Young Band Summer Slam Semester. The bands will perform at two shows this month, the second show being the official battle of the bands that will determine which band makes the cover.

The CD will be for sale at $11.95 per CD (plus sales tax). Order CDs here.

A portion of the proceeds will go to The Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts in order to help support them at a time when the Louisiana Arts community (in both realms of education and professional entertainment) is suffering from crippling state arts funding cuts. The Manship Theatre’s pursuit of celebrating our local culture as well as cultures across the world through dance, theatre, music, and film is one that we strongly support.

Another portion of the proceeds will go to Voice Of the Wetlands (VOW) a non profit organization focused on driving awareness and developing educational outlets/programs about the loss of the wetlands in southern Louisiana. Voice of the Wetlands takes an active role in driving awareness to restore the wetlands from a local to a national level.  The organization prides itself in maintaining a mission that addresses all aspects, causes and solutions.
