YBDP students on the road this month!!

Check out what the Young Band Development Program is doing! The students will be performing at 3 schools in Lake Charles AND they will KICK OFF Poor Pony‘s Pony Fest 2008! The message of the school presentation is three fold: 1) Music Education can take on many forms, not just traditional school band programs. 2) What we are doing in Baton Rouge can be done in any community. All it takes is young people who have a desire to learn, and local experienced musicians who are willing to lead. 3) Poor Pony seeks to empower local Lake Charles artists in the music, visual art, dance, and literary realms. Therefore, we seek to support Poor Pony by promoting their festival through our presentations. The students of the Young Band Program will have 4 performances that day, with our last performance at 5pm at the Fest. If you have friends or family in Lake Charles, please ask them to come support us on October 31st!!!
